I will never buy from Ford again. Their customer service is terrible. Okay, you know how I told you about my car problems, and how it would cost me $700 to fix? I decided to call around to get estimates. The following is a conversation I had with the very nice Meineke Guy:
Me: “I’m calling for an estimate for my car. My exhaust system is rotted out.”
Very Nice Meineke Guy: “You probably just need a new flex pipe, especially if it’s the original system.”
Me: “Hmm, Ford said it was the whole system. Funny thing is that I just got it inspected in September, and the car passed. Nobody ever mentioned anything about the exhaust system. I was wondering how they missed that.”
VNMG: “If that was the case, they never would have let your car pass. I hear these stories all the time. Let me guess, they quoted you a price of $400?”
Me: “Umm…$700.”
VNMG: “$700??!! No way!! Don’t pay that!! You just need a flex pipe. That’s $75 max.”
Me: “When can I come in Very Nice Meineke Guy??”
VNMG: “First thing tomorrow.”
Needless to say, I will be there. And I am never speaking to Ford again.

My dad is PISSED. He said that if it turns out that all I need is a flex pipe, he’s going to go scream at the Ford people. Then he told me “I mean, I expect them to take advantage of you because you’re a girl, but not this much!” Umm…thanks?
