Did you know that tug-of-war used to be an olympic sport? I wonder if countries used to just round up all the fourth graders and hold olympic trials on the playground. And if tug-of-war was an olympic sport, why not four square or tetherball? I would have been an olympian by sixth grade!
Speaking of dumb olympic sports, why is table tennis an olympic sport? Is it really even a sport? I see it more like I see shuffleboard and horseshoes. These are only sports when played at retirement homes and family reunions. There are so many more deserving sports like lacrosse and baseball, you know, sports that require actual physical exertion. I guess we’ll just have to tell all the little boys and girls who dream of being olympians that their dreams will never come true because there just isn’t room in the olympics for baseball. Hey, they had to make room for table tennis somewhere.
